Tianzhi Hotel Review

I booked my stay at the Tianzhi Hotel while visiting Harbin. It's located on the famous Zhongyang Street of Harbin city - a prime location for touring. Just a few blocks north by the Songhua River is the Stalin Park and the Harbin Flood Prevention Monument. Crossing north of the Songhuajiang river is the Sun Island where the Harbin Snow Sculpture Festival, and the Harbin Ice and Snow World Festival are held. Taking a taxi another 10 minutes further north to the outskirts of the city is the Harbin Siberian Tiger Park.

Beside the shopping district of Zhongyang Street, you will find the famous Sophia Church about 5 blocks away, along with several under ground shopping centers along the way. Going south (about 15min taxi ride), you will find the Heilongjiang Braodcasting Tower (Longta, Dragon Tower). Tianzhi hotel is also located about 25km from the airport.

Tianzhi hotel is a 4star rated hotel. I booked a standard room with a double bed, that cost me $398 yuan per night, or roughly $50USD. The rooms come with free highspeed internet, and are clean and well kept. The only problem I had was that the heat didn't seem to work that well. The room had two heating systems - a central heating vent blowing from the ceiling, and a set water heat pipes on the window side. The water heat pipes were not too bad, but the heat didn't spreadout around the room, and the air coming from the central heating vent was actually cold. Other than that, I have no other complaints.
